Coatesville Youth Initiative
Who We Are
The Coatesville Youth Initiative is an independent non-profit organization committed to training youth leaders, enhancing family relationships, building community collaboration, and encouraging prevention education.
The mission of the Coatesville Youth Initiative is to contribute to a vibrant future for Coatesville by engaging youth in experiences that support their success in school and in life, and by uniting a wide range of partners to make the community better for everyone.
Good Works is a Christian nonprofit organization, founded in 1988, and dedicated to repairing homes and restoring hope for low-income homeowners in Chester County, PA. Our service is fueled by our Christian faith and encouraged by the verse in scripture that says:
"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10).
Good Works believes it was raised up by God to extend His love in a tangible way to families living in substandard housing by working with them to make their homes warmer, safer and drier. The repairs we provide include roof repair, plumbing installation and repair, electrical rewiring and code compliance, heating installation and upgrades, insulation and drywall work, window and floor repair.
The Coatesville AFJROTC is one of the best leadership and public service training programs in high schools today, serving as an important step in preparing a young person to live an independent and secure life.
The Coatesville AFJROTC is a turning point in student lives; given the rates of violence, drug use, and other high risk behaviors in the Coatesville community. High school principals consistently report that AFJROTC improves graduation and attendance rates as well as grades, behavior, and citizenship.
Art Partners Studio
Mission- Art Partners Studio looks to a future where everyone in the greater Coatesville region has access to high quality arts education programs and the opportunity to actively participate in artistic experiences that enrich their lives and the life of their community.
Foundation for Free Enterprise Education
What is PFEW? Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week is an intensive program that educates high school students about the American free enterprise system. Bringing motivated students together with business people from throughout the state. This unique concept in learning has enhanced the lives of nearly 38,000 young adults for thirty-seven years.
During PFEW, participants not only learn to appreciate our free enterprise system, but they also see from a practitioner's perspective what it takes to be successful in an increasingly competitive global marketplace. Student companies simulate the actual operation of their own business for the equivalent of three years. Facing all of the decisions that real executives are confronted by, the student companies are mentored by dedicated business volunteers who serve as Company Advisors. Sharing their knowledge and expertise, Company Advisors address the most significant issues facing business today in straightforward, informal discussion with students.
Accented with motivational speakers and interactive learning exercises, this one-of-a-kind program furnishes a real life educational experience for eager students. Scholarship winners grasp the value of teamwork, cooperation and leadership and are provided with an invaluable opportunity to develop communication skills.
